Why isn't my printer responding?

Your printer must be in ChromeOS Mode to work with Chromebooks. Follow these steps:

Step 1: Check Printer Mode

  1. Print a self-test page (How to Print a Self-Test Page).

  2. Locate "U-Disk Mode" on the test page:

    •  "OFF" = Correct mode (ChromeOS Mode enabled).

    •  "ON" = Incorrect mode → Proceed to Step 2.

Step 2: Switch to ChromeOS Mode

(Required if U-Disk Mode is "ON")

  1. Ensure the printer is:

    • Powered ON

    • Loaded with correct label paper

  2. Press and hold the function button (top button) for ≈9 seconds.

  3. Release immediately when you hear three beeps.

Step 3: Set Up Flashlabel Plugin

  1. Install/Reinstall the Flashlabel plugin:

  2. ⚠️ Critical Notice:

    • If you previously added the printer in non-ChromeOS Mode, remove it and re-add after switching modes.

    • Don’t close the interface in the screenshot—printing will fail if you do.
